In order to regain health, it is imperative to have a constant influx of nutrients from the best sources. Any low nutrient, toxic, or cooked food will distract your body's process and counter any attempt to regain health. Your health will then plateau and you will not progress. Once you've done that, the body will begin cleaning and repairing its first priority...the Heart and Lungs. If and when that is done, your body moves on the the Muscles. When the muscles are in good shape, you will then start cleansing stored toxins from your tissues as it is your body's third priority.
The majority of people I have encountered that say they've "done" or "gone through" a cleanse usually stop their cleanse (or give up) between 2 days and 1 week and somewhere along the line they've had a little water squirted up their "yoo hoo" and now they think their colon is clean and their health should return. It helps, but this is the opposite of a true thing. Besides, the body will decide when its ready to cleanse.
Years and years of cellular damage and storage of undigested toxins in your tissues, sustained by constantly bombarding your body with the garbage we like to call food...takes a lot longer than 1 week to turn around. Cleansing symptoms are known to take months not weeks.

Also, cleansing the proper way, will mirror the symptoms of a fever or cold/flu. When the body tries to clean itself, your immune system works overtime thusly, raising your temperature. Mucous and fatigue are symptoms of cleansing as well. You may also experience discomfort where the body finally goes to work-cleaning your most toxic/damaged areas. If you have fungus living in you, i.e. Candida, expect whatever you have to get worse before it gets any better. Thats a good sign. Your body will force it out by whatever means the fungus normally manifests itself. Embrace it and know it will soon be absent from your system.
This does not mean raw meat or any meat for that matter. This simply means DONT COOK YOUR VEGGIES! WHY? Well, why do we cook? To kill what ever is in the food. But the best part of the food is alive! Enzymes! The only reason we want to kill it is because our Immune Systems are in such poor health, germs become a threat. A healthy Immune System cannot be fooled. Germs, viruses, and bacteria are no match for our God given defense system. When your body is using all your energy/enzymes digesting dead food all day, the one important thing it does not have energy/enzymes or time to do is internal maintenance.
All dead food, or cooked food, lacks a key participant of digestion. These participants are called Live Enzymes. Live enzymes are found in all your tissues and aid the body with cellular/tissue repair as well as burning fat among many other things. If there is dead food to be digested, the body summons these enzymes and extracts them from you tissues to aid in digestion. These are enzymes that could have been burning fat or repairing weak or poor cells/tissue.
Since raw food has these enzymes, they do not require as much, if any help in digestion. Thusly, giving you energy instead of needing energy for digestion as well as repairing your broken body. Anything cooked over 105 degrees kills these enzymes. All meat and dairy products have none. If you cook it, you kill it, and if you eat death, you promote it in your body on a cellular level. Life=life and visa versa.
Having a diet consisting primarily of cooked/dead foods only adds to the already "Dirty" condition of your internal terrain, and does not allow the body to cleanse or heal.
Above, you've learned about the difference between Living and Dead food. Another major and critical difference between the two is how each one affects the PH (potential hydrogen) of your tissues. A PH of 7.0 is neutral. Anything above 7 is Alkaline and anything below 7 is Acidic. The PH in your tissues will vary depending on what you eat where as the PH in your blood remains a constant 7.4 or else death can happen. In contrast, the PH of your stomach acid is 2 (extremely acidic). Your body will sacrifice all your other parts to maintain the perfect PH of the blood. The more your body has to fight to keep the bloods PH at 7.4 the quicker you will age and the older you will look.
When cooked/dead food breaks down it becomes acidic where as raw/live food will become alkaline. If your blood PH takes a negative hit (acidic hit), the body must counter it. In order to do so, it needs available minerals/nutrients. Since the nutrients in the food were rendered unrecognizable by the body due to cooking, the body will leach or extract these minerals from the skin, hair, teeth, and bones. Having a highly acidic environment is where disease will spawn. Maintaining that environment is how disease flourishes and continues to worsen. Disease does not exist in an alkaline environment. Since these two properties can easily be manipulated by certain foods, the body can always recover. If you are disease ridden or even if your not, I would advise to change the PH in your tissues and eat some live fricken food.
